Today we are going to show how to install the Race Optics Evolution camera system on a 2006 Suzuki GSXR-1000 motorcycle.

We first layed out the camera system on a work bench. We are going to use the suction cup mount for mounting the camera on the tank and a wireless LANC controller for easy operation. We also are using the 520line upgrade camera.

First we mount the suction cup mount on the gas tank of the motorcycle Before mounting the suction cup mount we cleaned the surface with rubbing alcohol. This will allow the suction cup to seal tightly.
Then we mounted the camera on suction cup mount. The threaded bolt on the suction cup mount screws into the back of the camera. Then the lock screw is tighten. Don't worry about aligning the camera we will do that later.
We then ran the camera cable under the gas tank and back through the side fairings. We removed the seat so the cable could be routed to the tail where it can be connected to the DVR.
Then we connected the Audio/Video adaptor cable to the camera.
We then mounted the DVR in the tail. We decided to use some industrial strength velcro for mounting.
We placed the hook side of the velcro on the back of the DVR and the loop side on the bottom bike tail. Note* clean surfaces so veclro adheres properly. Then we placed the DVR in the tail and pressed the veclro together.
Then we removed the DVR out and inserted the SD memory card. The wireless LANC controller can be operated by the key chain clicker or the ON/OFF/REC switch located on the wireless receiver.
Then we connected the wireless LANC controller to the DVR. Then we connected the audio/video adpator cable to the LANC controller receiver. There should be a rubber cover over the A/V port to prevent water and dirt from getting in.
Then we tucked away the cables in the tail and positioned the LANC controller so that we could still access the ON/OFF/REC switch. Then we routed the microphone into right side of the tail near the exhaust. It can take some testing to find the best placement for the microphone to get the ideal audio. We recommend keeping it away from possible wind noise.
The wireless clicker has a metal chain for quick attachement to a set of keys. We choose to velcro it to the triple tree on the motorcycle for easy access.
Then we power on the system to align the camera. Press the "Stop" button the clicker to power on the system. The DVR should power on then revert to the main menu.
Then we enter the pre-record screen by scrolling down to "recording settings" and selecting "video-line in." Now we can align the camera. We adjust the arms on the suction cup mount so that we have nice even camera view of the speedometer and a view out the windshield.
The camera installation is now setup and ready to film.
